PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say a man was taken to a hospital for treatment of a stab wound after driving himself to a convenience store with his 13-year-old son.

Sgt. Trent Crump said the man reportedly was stabbed Tuesday morning during an altercation with another homeless man.

Crump said the stab wound didn’t appear to be life-threatening.

The incident happened near 17th Avenue Roosevelt Street and the store is located at 17th Avenue and Van Burden Street. Those locations are about a half-mile apart.
