HOUSTON (AP) - Police say the body of a man has been found in a pickup truck that was on fire in southeast Houston.

The Houston Fire Department responded to reports of a fire in an open field around 11:45 p.m. Saturday.

C.R. Hogue with the Houston Police Department said that firefighters found a pickup engulfed in flames. Fire crews discovered the badly burned body of an unidentified man after the fire was extinguished. The cause of death was not immediately clear.

Hogue says an investigation is ongoing.
