HARAHAN, La. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a motorist accused of crashing into a power pole and triggering an outage in Harahan.

Nola.com/The Times Picayune (https://bit.ly/1RxTbNM ) reports that Harahan police arrested 33-year-old Matthew Granat Saturday on charges including driving while intoxicated, reckless operation of a vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Citing a police report, the newspaper reported that Granat crashed his vehicle through a power pole in Harahan Saturday morning. Police say Granat had failed a sobriety test and that they discovered heroin and syringes in his vehicle.

Granat was arrested at Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna. Bond was set at $12,000 for the charges related to the crash, but he was being held without bond on a parole violation charge.

It’s unclear if he has an attorney.
