LAS VEGAS (AP) - A former Las Vegas blackjack dealer wants to withdraw her guilty plea to kidnapping and killing her ex-boyfriend’s 10-year-old daughter just before Christmas 2012.

A judge set a March 14 hearing to appoint a lawyer, and postponed sentencing Wednesday for Brenda Stokes Wilson.

Wilson pleaded guilty in January to abducting and killing Jade Morris and then attacking former friend and co-worker Joyce Rhone with a straight razor at the Bellagio casino.

The 53-year-old Wilson was expected to get life in state prison without parole after pleading guilty to murder, kidnapping, attempted murder, burglary and mayhem - each with a deadly weapon enhancement.

She’d face the death penalty at trial.

Police and family members think Stokes Wilson was under the mistaken belief that the girl’s father had begun dating Rhone.
