JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a fast-moving fire that severely damaged two Jersey City apartment buildings left three people injured and displaced nearly 40 people.

But the cause of Monday night’s fire in the city’s Greenville section remains under investigation.

Authorities say the three-story wood frame buildings sustained heavy fire and water damage.

Two residents and a firefighter were treated at hospitals for minor injuries.

The American Red Cross was assisting at least 37 residents who were displaced by the fire.
