CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Charlotte police have arrested a man they believe is responsible for a series of armed robberies in the area.

Media outlets report that 21-year-old Tommy Joe Harvey Jr. was arrested Thursday and charged with four counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, common law robbery and attempted common law robbery.

Police say all of the robberies were committed between September and November of 2015. A Charlotte Wells Fargo was robbed twice, an Advanced Auto Parts was robbed three times and an O’Reilly’s Auto Parts was robbed once.

During the auto parts store robberies, police say the robber used a gun. In the bank robberies, the robber is accused of handing the teller a note.

Anyone with additional information about the cases is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.

It’s unclear if Harvey has an attorney.
