EAGLE GROVE, Iowa (AP) - Four businesses in downtown Eagle Grove have been damaged by late afternoon fire.

The Fort Dodge Messenger says (https://bit.ly/1RfLYkO ) the fire was reported just before 6 p.m. Friday.

Authorities say no one was hurt in the blaze in the 200 block of West Broadway, but three or four firefighters were checked at the scene for possible heat exhaustion.

Fire Chief Gary Lalor says the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Lalor says Sam’s Chinese Restaurant, C&K; Interiors, a hair salon called Reflections and Torkelson Construction all sustained damage in the fire. Those businesses are adjacent to one another in a row of two-story buildings that have common walls.

Firefighters with the Eagle Grove and Goldfield departments remained on the scene for about three hours.
