WARREN, Mich. (AP) - A Michigan-based furniture retailer has launched a competition to distribute more than $300,000 in grants to Midwestern nonprofit groups that raise the most money during the campaign.

Through the Art Van Charity Challenge, roughly 150 nonprofits focused on children, health care and human services are involved in the fundraising competition through June 22. The 10 most successful organizations in that effort will receive grants that range from $1,500 to $100,000.

Art Van Furniture says that since 2008, it’s donated $8 million and helped to raise an additional $22 million for about 350 charities through the campaign.
