PHOENIX (AP) - Funeral services are set for a Phoenix police officer fatally wounded by a burglary suspect.

Phoenix police officials say services for Officer David Glasser are scheduled for Thursday morning.

The 10 a.m. service will be at Christ’s Church of the Valley in Peoria.

A procession to Phoenix Memorial Park and Cemetery will follow.

Glasser died Thursday, a day after he was shot while responding to a call about a son stealing guns from his father in Laveen.

He and his partner had parked their patrol vehicle behind a car in the driveway without knowing an armed man was inside.

Police say 19-year-old Israel Santos-Banos exited the car and opened fire.

Officers returned fire, killing Santos-Banos.

Glasser, a 12-year veteran, is survived by a wife and two children.
