HARTLAND, Vt. (AP) - Vermont state police say a woman was seriously injured when her car struck a deer and an embankment and rolled over in Hartland, ejecting her from the car.

Authorities say 31-year-old Sarah Freeman of Springfield, Vermont, was airlifted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center after the crash Saturday on Interstate 91 northbound before 7 a.m. Police say Freeman, who was not wearing a seatbelt, lost control of the car after hitting the deer.

The northbound lanes of the interstate were closed for about two hours.

Hartland is north of Windsor and south of White River Junction, Vermont.
