SPRINGVILLE, Utah (AP) - A Springville man is in jail after he allegedly posted messages prompting people to meet him at a school with a rifle.

The Daily Herald in Provo reported (https://bit.ly/1TyD3R6) Friday that police arrested 18-year-old Marcus Swendsen for making a terroristic threat.

Police Sgt. Dave Caron says officials at Springville High School were informed that Swendsen, a former student, had posted on Twitter that anyone could meet him at the school with an AK-47.

The school notified authorities, who went to Swendsen’s home.

Caron says they found Swendsen had also made posts referencing Columbine High School, site of one of the deadliest school shootings.

Swendsen told officers he did not own a rifle and sent the tweets to stir things up.

Caron says no weapons were found at his home.
