BREWERTON, N.Y. (AP) - A rebuilt pier at the west end of Oneida Lake in central New York is open.

The completion of the $2.9 million Brewerton Pier restores waterfront access for local residents and tourists. It’s located north of Syracuse in the Town of Hastings and is a critical stopping point for barges, especially when there’s rough weather on Oneida Lake.

The new structure also provides a safe docking area for tour boats and pleasure boats. It replaces the original built in 1911, which had fallen into disrepair.
