BOSTON (AP) - The Coast Guard says a good Samaritan responded to its call for assistance and rescued four people from a sinking boat off Salisbury Beach.

None of the boaters suffered any injuries on Saturday afternoon.

The Coast Guard says it broadcast seeking help from nearby vessels and the good Samaritan was able to reach the sinking boat quickly. The four people were later transferred onto a Coast Guard boat.

Petty Officer 1st Class Bobby Cook says life jackets for all passengers, a working VHF radio and the good Samaritan “all contributed to lives being saved.”

A commercial salvage company righted the sinking boat and towed it away.
