CARSON, California (AP) - San Jose’s Fatai Alashe scored a late equalizer to give the Earthquakes a 1-1 draw at Los Angeles in Major League Soccer on Sunday.

Alashe ran to the top of the 6-yard box and his header, off Chad Barrett’s cross, found the back of the net in the 87th minute.

Los Angeles had taken the lead just moments earlier when San Jose’s Marvell Wynne, attempting to clear a cross from Sebastian Lletget, scored an own goal.

The Galaxy has not lost since in its past nine games, moving within one result of matching the team’s record unbeaten streak of 10 games set in 2014.

The Earthquakes haven’t won in Carson since 2012.

In the day’s other game, Portland ended a run of three successive losses by defeating local rival Vancouver 4-2, with goals from Diego Valeri, Jack McInerney, Dairon Asprilla and Darlington Nagbe.
