PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - Parkersburg fire officials say a man has died in a house fire.

Capt. Tim Flinn tells the Parkersburg News and Sentinel (https://bit.ly/1qCQ54t) that the fire started in a bedroom area Saturday morning at a two-story wood frame home in Parkersburg. The body of a man was found inside, along with two pets.

Flinn says the man’s identity wasn’t immediately determined and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. He says foul play is not believed to be a factor.

Flinn says firefighters’ efforts were hampered by muddy conditions due to rainy weather and the home’s location on a steep hillside.
