NORTH STONINGTON, Conn. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of the man who died while fishing with his son on a North Stonington lake over the weekend.

Environmental Conservation Police say 50-year-old Peter Fajayan Sr., of New London, died after his 14-foot canoe capsized on the Lake of Isles at about 7:30 a.m. Sunday.

The son, Peter Fajayan Jr., of Uncasville, tried to save his father before making it to shore.

The father’s body was recovered around 8:45 a.m.
