HAZLETON, Pa. (AP) - State police say a girl has died of injuries sustained in a traffic accident last week on Interstate 81 that also injured two other people.

Police in Luzerne County said 7-year-old Amailey Gonzalez of Jessup was pronounced dead Saturday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.

Gonzalez was injured when a northbound car on the interstate went out of control at about 8:40 p.m. Friday in Hazle Township and struck a rock embankment, ejecting two women.

Police said the child was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by local firefighters. Police said she was wearing a seat belt, but the two adults were not.

The 25- and 33-year-old women were flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital with severe injuries.
