ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Authorities say over a dozen Bernalillo County jail inmates face new charges following a disturbance during which prisoners assaulted a correctional officer and tried to take over part of the facility.

A report says several inmates jumped and struck the officer and that others used towels to jam doors and block cameras during the disturbance Saturday at the Metropolitan Detention Center.

Officers used stun guns and pepper spray to regain control.

No serious injuries were reported, but two correctional officers and two inmates went to the hospital for treatment.
