LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Police in Little Rock are investigating an allegation that an officer shot and wounded a man.

Officer Richard Hilgeman said Monday that two officers were chasing two people who were suspected of being intoxicated when Officer Jordan White shot at a dog that was moving aggressively toward the officer.

Hilgeman says one of the men who was being pursued - Alexander Davis - later went to a hospital with a leg wound that he says was caused by White’s gunshot.

Hilgeman says it has not been confirmed that the wound was the result of a gunshot.

White is on administrative leave pending the investigation.
