MINEOLA, N.Y. (AP) - Officials on Long Island are honoring four police officers and two medics who saved a referee’s life during a middle school basketball game.
Referee Terry Twibell collapsed from cardiac arrest on Feb. 1 at Seaford Middle School. The rescuers brought back his pulse and stabilized his condition.
A Mineola ceremony on Monday afternoon is being hosted by Nassau County Legislature Presiding Officer Norma Gonsalves; Police Commissioner Thomas C. Krumpter; and PBA President James Carver.
