BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Police in Birmingham, Alabama, say a boy playing basketball in a public park was grazed by a bullet and a man was shot in the shoulder when the occupants of two nearby vehicles opened fire on each other.

The 11-year-old boy and the man were taken to a hospital after the shooting at Grayson Park Sunday afternoon.

Birmingham police spokesman Sgt. Bryan Shelton tells news outlets that they are investigating whether the man was targeted or just caught in the crossfire.

No arrests have been made.
