DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota Highway Patrol troopers will be on the lookout for traffic violations around school buses in the Devils Lake area.

The agency is bringing its “Trooper on a Bus” campaign to Devils Lake on Tuesday.

The program has been used across the state in recent years to boost safety around school buses. Troopers ride on buses to observe any traffic violations and radio the information to officers in squad cars to make traffic stops.

The registered owner of a vehicle and the driver both can be fined $100 if the driver fails to stop for a school bus.
