SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Police say they’ve lifted an evacuation order on a dozen businesses after determining that a bomb left by a suspected bank robber was a fake.

Unified Police Lt. Lex Bell says an armed man robbed the bank Monday morning and left behind a small satchel. Police say he claimed was a bomb that would detonate if anyone called police.

But someone was already on the phone with police, and officers arrested the man after he exited the building.

Officers evacuated the bank and about 12 businesses surrounding it.

The bomb squad examined the bag and found something that was fashioned to look like a bomb, but it was a fake.
