ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) - Fourteen alleged members or associates of an Alexandria gang have been named in an eight-count indictment.

The Town Talk reports (https://townta.lk/1WaGO1j) the document tells the tale of a much wider circle that used intimidation, violence and cash to try to keep its members free from the clutches of the legal system.

Pretrial hearings for most of the 14 men are scheduled for May 26. The 12 members and two associates were indicted on March 31 by a Rapides Parish grand jury.

The multiple agencies involved in the two-and-a-half-year investigation into the Triple M Murder Team announced the indictments on April 5.

Although the 14 defendants are accused of crimes ranging from murder to racketeering to drug sales, the indictment says others also played a role in the gang’s operations.
