KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) - U.S. Speaker of the House Paul Ryan has some advice for Carthage College’s new graduates. Don’t worry too much about the plan.

Ryan told the 656 graduates that sometimes, fulfillment lies in very unpredictable places. Speaking to the Class of 2016 Sunday at the Kenosha college, Ryan said he had planned to work in finance for a couple years after graduating from Miami University in Ohio with a degree in economics and political science. He had a plan. The Kenosha News (https://bit.ly/1TuNotU ) says Ryan told the graduates he knew exactly what he wanted to do - become an economist.

But, his life took a different path as he worked as a congressional aide and a legislative director. Later when a congressman from his district decided to run for the U.S. Senate, he was encouraged to run for Congress.
