ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) - The trial for an Aberdeen man accused of stabbing a woman to death will be held in Pierre.

Thirty-four-year-old John Hemminger is charged with murder in the death of 26-year-old Jessica Goebel, who died after being stabbed in January 2015.

He was to stand trial in Aberdeen this month, but Judge Scott Myren in late April granted a change-of-venue motion from defense attorneys who worried about the ability to seat an unbiased jury in Brown County.

The American News reports (https://bit.ly/1sxO8Yl ) that the trial is now scheduled from Aug. 22 to Sept. 7 in Pierre, with Hughes County residents serving on the jury. Any hearings leading up to the trial will still be held in Brown County.
