PHOENIX (AP) - A former Arizona juvenile corrections officer arrested last year for alleged sexual misconduct has pleaded guilty in the case.

Maricopa County Superior Court officials say Patrice Dawson pleaded guilty Monday to one count of child abuse with sexual motivation.

She’s scheduled to be sentenced July 5.

The Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections fired Dawson after investigating the reports it received in October 2015.

Dawson was an officer at the Adobe Mountain School juvenile detention facility in north Phoenix.

According to her arrest record, Dawson had sexual contact last August with a boy in custody who was over the age of 15 at the time.

Juvenile Corrections officials say they became aware of sexual-misconduct allegations involving Dawson and investigated them before confronting her.

They say she confessed to the sexual misconduct.
