GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - A federal judge in Mississippi has sentenced 38-year-old Texas man to 20 years in prison for distributing crystal meth in George County and surrounding areas.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/22nhi9j) Sergio Contreras Jr., of Penitas, Texas, was sentenced Monday on a guilty plea to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute crystal meth.

U.S. District Judge Sul Ozerden also ordered three years of post-release supervision.

Contreras pleaded guilty earlier this year, admitting his involvement in distributing meth in Lucedale and outlying areas.

Contreras and 28-year-old Oscar Martinez, of Weslaco, Texas, were indicted but were charged in a bill of information in February.

Martinez is due to be sentenced on the same charge Wednesday.
