CUSICK, Wash. (AP) - Two women are dead and a 3-year-old child was injured after their SUV rolled down an embankment near the town of Cusick.

The Washington State Patrol says all three were ejected from the vehicle before it plunged into the Pend Oreille River in northeast Washington.

Troopers say 21-year-old Andrea Heinen was driving late Wednesday when her SUV crossed the center line and rolled down an embankment.

The patrol say Heinen died at the scene, while the other women died at the hospital. The child has minor injuries and is recovering at a hospital.
