CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) - A 31-year-old Cedar City man has been sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for his role in a 2014 murder.

Eric Rodriguez pleaded guilty in March to aggravated first-degree murder in the death of 45-year-old Shawn Multine.

Police say he and Angelo Carrasco forced their way into a home in October 2014 before Carrasco shot Multine with a high-powered rifle. They say Rodriguez assisted in hiding the murder weapon before fleeing the scene.

The (St. George) Spectrum (https://tinyurl.com/jtx2qad) reports that Rodriguez expressed his regret for the role he played in the killing before 5th District Court Judge Keith Barnes sentenced him on Tuesday.

Rodriguez said no one deserved what happened to Multine, and he hopes all the families now will have some kind of closure.
