HEATH SPRINGS, S.C. (AP) - A Lancaster County man has been arrested and charged in the death of Heath Springs woman.

Lancaster County Sheriff Barry Faile said in a statement that 28-year-old Arkevus Jimon Cauthen was arrested Wednesday and charged with murder in the death of 54-year-old Sandra Johnson.

Deputies and emergency personnel were called to Johnson’s home in Heath Springs about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday after a family member found the victim on the floor in the home. The sheriff’s office said emergency personnel pronounced Johnson dead.

The sheriff’s office said an autopsy Wednesday showed Johnson bled to death from several stab wounds.

Cauthen is being held in the Lancaster County jail. It was not known if he has an attorney.

Faile says investigators are trying to determine any relationship between Cauthen and Johnson.
