COVENTRY, Conn. (AP) - The man who died when his pickup truck struck the back of a fuel tanker in Coventry this week has been identified as a local resident.

Police on Thursday identified the victim of the crash late Tuesday night as 29-year-old Michael Miller.

Investigators say Miller was driving east on Route 44 at about 11:15 p.m. when his truck struck the fuel tanker, which had stopped to turn into the Save ‘N Go gas station for a delivery. The tanker did not explode.

Miller was pronounced dead at the scene. There was no one else in his vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing.
