PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A Massachusetts man arrested for selling drugs and a gun on the streets of Rhode Island has been sentenced to more than seven years in federal prison.

Prosecutors say 44-year-old Marcus Johnston, of Fall River, was sentenced on Wednesday to 7 ½ years in prison and four years of probation on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and trafficking crack cocaine. He pleaded guilty in February.

Authorities say Johnston sold a .22 caliber handgun to someone working on behalf of the FBI Safe Street Task Force for $600 in October 2013. He also sold $7,300 worth of crack to someone working on behalf of the FBI between August 2013 and March 2014.
