BLOOMFIELD, N.M. (AP) - San Juan County workers have fished a mobile home from the San Juan River after increased water levels eroded the bank and the trailer slipped into the water.

The trailer was parked too close to the riverbank near Bloomfield when it slid into the water Wednesday. The river is experiencing increased water flow due to a release from Navajo Lake.

Crews from the San Juan County and Bloomfield fire departments worked to secure the trailer so it wouldn’t float downstream and damage property. Officials say the trailer was uninhabited and was not connected to utilities when it fell into the river. Crews were able to pull the water-logged trailer from the river using a winch truck later that day.

Crews will demolish and remove the truck on Thursday.
