SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a Scottsdale man allegedly shot in the neck by his wife during a domestic dispute has died.

Scottsdale police say 64-year-old Joseph Soria died in a hospital Wednesday from the gunshot wound he suffered in the May 19 incident at the couple’s residence.

Police say 57-year-old Maria Soria was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence aggravated assault in the shooting.

They’re now recommending to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office that the charges against her be upgraded to homicide.

It wasn’t immediately known Thursday if Maria Soria has an attorney.
