BELLEVILLE, Mich. (AP) - Jehovah’s Witnesses invite both members and non-members of the denomination to a regional convention being held west of Detroit.

The conference dubbed “Remain Loyal!” begins Friday at the Assembly Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Belleville. The conference is expected to include 35 video segments and two short films that will be shown Saturday and Sunday.

Organizers say the free event is paid for through voluntary donations.

The denomination was founded in 1872 by Charles Taze Russell, a former Congregationalist layman. Witnesses believe they adhere to the oldest religion on Earth, the worship of Almighty God revealed in the Bible as Jehovah.
