CLAYMONT, Del. (AP) - Officials say an employee of a Claymont Chinese restaurant was shot after a man attempted to rob the business.

Master Cpl. Jeffrey Hale of the Delaware State Police tells news outlets that troopers responded to the restaurant Wednesday night and found the man suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

He was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say the suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction. State police have not released information on the suspect at this time.

Officials are investigating the case. Anyone with information is being asked to contact authorities.
