SLATINGTON, Pa. (AP) - A youth wrestling coach was fatally shot in what a coroner says was a murder-suicide in an eastern Pennsylvania home.

The Lehigh County coroner says 48-year-old Joseph Sommer Jr. was fatally shot at a home in Washington Township where another man, 34-year-old Harry Bortz Jr., was found to have shot himself.

The district attorney and state police were continuing to investigate the shooting just before midnight Wednesday, and police have stopped short of confirming Bortz shot Sommer, despite the coroner’s murder-suicide ruling. Police have said, however, that the public is not in danger and they’re not pursuing any other suspects.

Both men are from Northampton where Sommer returned as the coach of the youth wrestling program in recent months.

Authorities haven’t said why the men were in the home.
