COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Police say six Columbus high schools have been vandalized as each has begun senior final exams.

Police say the exteriors of the buildings were hit with eggs Wednesday night, covered in toilet paper and sprayed with food coloring. The interiors of the buildings weren’t vandalized.

The schools targeted were South High School, Walnut Ridge High School, Independence High School, Eastmoor Academy High School, Africentric Early College and Marion-Franklin High School.

District officials say they are reviewing surveillance video and that those responsible for the vandalism will face punishment.

Police say vandals may think it’s funny, but that vandalism is a misdemeanor crime.
