ISLE OF PALMS, S.C. (AP) - A sea turtle named Norris will be able to enjoy the holiday weekend in its natural home.

Workers from the South Carolina Aquarium released the 110-pound juvenile sea turtle on the Isle of Palms on Thursday.

The turtle was found stranded last August at Litchfield Beach suffering from an illness similar to pneumonia for humans. After almost a year at the aquarium’s sea turtle hospital, Norris was well enough to be released.

It was the 189th turtle to be treated by the aquarium.
