LAKE ANDES, S.D. (AP) - A Lake Andes man has been charged with vehicular homicide after a one-vehicle crash left his brother dead.

The Daily Republic reports (https://bit.ly/1UhFSF8 ) that 25-year-old Albert Fischer allegedly was drunk when he lost control of his car on state Highway 50 northwest of Wagner on April 26.

The vehicle rolled several times in a ditch, killing 22-year-old passenger James Fischer, of Lake Andes.

Albert Fischer is free on a personal recognizance bond. It isn’t clear if he has an attorney, and a home telephone listing for him couldn’t be found. Vehicular homicide carries a maximum punishment of 15 years in prison.
