PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Philadelphia police say a 57-year-old man has been hit, dragged and killed by a hit-and-run vehicle.

The incident happened about 10 p.m. Thursday as the victim was getting out of his car. His name hasn’t been released.

Police say he was stepping from his vehicle when a passing vehicle hit the man and his open driver’s side door, dragging the man about 15 feet.

The victim was taken to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead about 12:30 a.m. Friday.

Police haven’t found the hit-and-run vehicle or its driver. They’re reviewing surveillance video from nearby businesses and say the fleeing car may have been a dark-colored, older model Saab.
