NEW YORK (AP) - The New York Police Department says it’s investigating the fatal stabbing of a 38-year-old woman who was attacked inside a residence in the Bronx.

NYPD says officers in the 44th precinct responded around 10 p.m. Thursday to a 911 call reporting someone had been stabbed at 215 East 164th St., near Yankee Stadium.

When officers arrived they found a woman unconscious and unresponsive with multiple stab wounds to her torso. Emergency crews took her Lincoln Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of her family.
