BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - State officials say Paychex, a New York-based company that specializes in payroll and personnel services, is expanding its operations in Baton Rouge and adding 100 new jobs.

The expansion was announced Thursday by Gov. John Bel Edwards and company officials.

Paychex is based in Rochester, New York, and has more than 100 office locations across the United States. It offers payroll, personnel, retirement and insurance services.

The expansion comes after the company moved to a larger 14,000-square-foot office in Baton Rouge in February 2015. Its Baton Rouge office is one of the company’s regional service centers.

The company says it’s hiring for the new positions, which pay on average $32,000 a year. The company already has about 60 people working there.
