OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. (AP) - Police have identified two people killed by a sport utility vehicle when they got out of their disabled car on the Long Island Expressway.

Nassau County police said late Thursday that 20-year-old Yousef Shaker of Queens died at the scene of Monday night’s crash in Old Westbury. Police say 18-year-old Lauren Stephan, of Salem in Washington County, died at a hospital.

Detective Sgt. James Skopek has said the car they were in hit a guardrail and a median.

Two other passengers from the disabled car are expected to survive.

The unidentified SUV driver suffered minor injuries. Police say no criminality was involved.
