APPLETON, Wis. (AP) - Police have arrested the victim’s wife in a homicide in Appleton.

Police say they were called to a home just after 3:30 a.m. Friday where a relative, not the victim or the wife, said the 35-year-old man had been stabbed. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Capt. Todd Freeman says in a statement that the victim’s 34-year-old wife accompanied officers to the police department where she was interviewed and arrested. She’s being held in the Outagamie County Jail on suspicion of first-degree intentional homicide, but she has not been formally charged.

The district attorney’s office expects her to appear in court on Tuesday.

Sgt. Dave Lund says the couple’s children are being cared for by relatives.
