NEW YORK (AP) - Police say an 8-year-old boy is being questioned after he brought a gun to school in Brooklyn.

Officers were called to Public School 91 in East Flatbush at 11:35 a.m. Friday and confiscated the gun.

Police say no shots were fired and no one was injured. It was not immediately known whether the gun was loaded.

City Department of Education spokeswoman Toya Holness says the department is working closely with the NYPD as they investigate “this deeply troubling incident.”

She said there is zero tolerance for weapons in schools.
