RENO, Nev. (AP) - A Washoe County judge has agreed to try a 16-year-old Reno youth as an adult on murder charges accusing him of fatally shooting another teen in a city park in December.

Christian Scott, who was 15 at the time of the shooting, was booked into the county jail Thursday on charges of murder with a deadly weapon, attempted murder with a firearm and robbery with a deadly weapon. He previously was being held in a juvenile detention center.

Prosecutors say two juveniles who Scott robbed at gunpoint on Dec. 29 came across him later that day at Pat Baker Park, where Scott allegedly shot a 16-year-old boy on the head.

It’s not clear if Scott has hired a lawyer or will be appointed one at his initial appearance, which is pending in Reno Justice Court.
