LUMBERTON, Miss. (AP) - Lamar County authorities are investigating a sanitation truck-train accident.

Sheriff Danny Rigel tells The Hattiesburg American (https://hatne.ws/1Z5JIma) the accident happened Thursday morning in Lumberton.

Dave Pidgeon, a Norfolk Southern spokesman, says the collision involved a train, which was northbound with two locomotives and four loaded freight cars.

He said the two crew members were not injured.

Rigel says the driver of the sanitation truck was taken to Forrest General Hospital with unknown injuries.

He says two other sanitation workers were on the back of the truck, but were able to jump off before the collision. They were not injured.
