VERNAL, Utah (AP) - Authorities say a Vernal man has died in a three-vehicle crash.

The Utah Highway Patrol says six others, including three children, were also injured in the Friday crash.

Investigators say a Mitsubishi Eclipse traveling on State Route 40 near Vernal rear-ended a Pontiac Grand Am stopped to make a left turn.

The Pontiac went into the opposite lane, where it was struck by a pickup truck carrying four people.

UHP officials say the Pontiac’s sole passenger, 19-year-old Sandon Marshall, suffered fatal injuries.

The 17-year-old female driver was taken to a hospital in extremely critical condition.

The 69-year-old woman driving the Mitsubishi is in serious condition.

The 63-year-old female pickup driver and a 9-year-old girl are in serious but stable condition. Two boys, ages 8 and 3, were treated and released.

This story has been corrected with the spelling of Sandon Marshall’s last name, which was incorrectly listed by Utah Highway Patrol as Marshal.
